The
Nevada
State Council President is Ken Braker, elected in July of 2008.
Ken spent 20 years in the Air Force and retired a Master
Sargeant. He then spent 20 years in the Las Vegas, Nevada Fire
Department, and retired as Shop Foreman.
Ken Braker was born and raised in Orange, California. He has an
Associate of Arts degree from Orange Coast Junior College, and has
been with VVA Chjapter 17 since October of 1987. Ken has, at one
time or other, held all chapter positions including President for 7
years. He has been married for 40 years, and has 2 beautiful
daughters.
Ken has been a member of and active in 27 different organizations or
groups, over the years. 16 of those groups dealt with rights of
the handicapped. Currently, he is a member of 6 organizations,
which is just about enough to handle at one time!
Ken served in Vietnam from 1971-72 with the 554th Red Horse CES.
He is appreciated a lot by the Nevada AVVA Associtation. He is
very supportive of them, as was his predecessor, and it is their honor
to help to serve the Nevada VVA.
This page will give our State Council a
forum for bits of information, open letters to members, articles they may
write, or any other information they feel is appropriate for VVA members
from Nevada or from around the USA. Please come back and visit this site,
and this page often.
